Have a Cool Yule with Cheery Lynn Designs

Today on the Cheery Lynn Blog I am sharing with you a festive Yule card created with several yummy dies from the October New release! I love the snowflake mesh and the fringe dies along with the Horizon Boutique Circle die! This card is folded off-center so as to accommodate the large 4¾" Horizon Boutique die. The snowflake mesh is actually on the "inside" of the card on the right side so as to "peek" out around the circle edge of the face of the card! The tips of the fringe were hand colored as well as the green leaves and vines.

The Key to My Heart

Good afternoon everyone! I wanted to share with you some fun new products that I've been experimenting with this weekend! This is chipboard and embossing powders and glazes from Globecraft and Piccolo! I'm very excited about these embossing powders! They are blended with a variety of sizes so that you get spurts of color and chunkyness in your project depending on how much you heat them.
For the chipboard hearts, I layered three coats of powder on each side and then added a glaze of glastique to the top to add shine and smoothness. For the keys I applied 2 coats of powder on  both sides...the smoothness of the copper did not require an additional coat of glaze. I created 1" and ½" paper beads and then coated them all with the copper emboss enamel. On the ½" beads I sprinkled a coat of cranberry wine on for the last layer and heated the bead one more time. Layered on top of the copper, the cranberry powder gave a smoother finish!

Products Used

The necklace was put together with a variety of chains and jump rings. A bit of sari silk was threaded through the eyes above the beads for added comfort in wear. I hope you enjoyed my project featuring chipboard and emboss enamel and glastique glaze from Globecraft and Piccolo! Thank you for stopping by!!

Weekly Challenge | Tag You're It at Cheery Lynn

Happy Tuesday everyone! On the Cheery Lynn Blog today I am sharing with you a watercolored fall tag! I cut out all the elements of this tag on watercolor paper. I used both crayons and mica infused cake watercolors to create these fall leaves and back ground. Distress Ink rubbed onto the edges helped complete the leaves once they were formed with an emboss tool. The Thank and You were also painted with the mica cake watercolors and rubbed gently with the Distress Ink.  I really love how the Dimensional Leaves look with the embossed veins--so real looking!

Festive Upcycled Card with Cheery Lynn Designs

Happy Tuesday everyone! Over on the Cherry Lynn Designs blog I am sharing with you a festive card using project left overs. I like to create with white die cuts...many times misting, painting, or coloring with markers to to complete the look of my projects. The pieces I've chosen for this card include items for Halloween, a mixed media canvas project, an altered bottle project and some winter cards. Even if it is a partial piece, I keep the leftovers, they work well for a little sneak peek under a ripped paper.

The peek-a-boo showing under the ripped piece is cut to fit the spot. It is glitter for a hint of glitz. The flowers on the doily are all white and given a glisten using the clear Wink of Stella pen

Thank you for stopping by! I hope you enjoy my festive card  made with left overs!

leslierahye's Thankful for those who have Served 2♥13

Good morning! Happy Veteran's Day! This is a day to remember our service men and woman--to thank them for the freedoms we have because of the service THEY gave. Thank you.

Recently for a project at school my son was asked who in his family were veterans. I asked my mom's help in creating a list because I knew the two men pictured here were, and my uncle [most recently]. But there were many in our family that we were leaving out. A few hours later, we had a list--over 20 in our families have served from World War I to present day. OVER 20! It's incredible to me that so many of our family fought hard for this country...almost every branch of service is represented.
Today I am sharing with you my grandfathers. Without these men, I would not have had my parents and I would not be here. I love and appreciate them very much and miss them every day. For the hop today I created Altered Trading Cards with vintage photos of them in their uniforms--they were very handsome!

Thank you for taking the time to stop by. I would love to hear about your own veterans in the comments! Land of the Free, Because of the Brave! Be sure to check out the stories and projects on the rest of the hop!

I will not lie...I'm EXHAUSTED and spent the next week sputtering like Goldie Hawn in Overboard! But if given the chance, I'd probably do it again! I do love stamping and I do love Halloween! I'll start earlier this year! YAY!

So if you missed all of the Hallowed projects on my blog this past month--plus the design team ones I did--here is a recap! I hope you enjoy!
